The game is a giant message in itself. A massive encouragement towards hope and perseverance.
It is the motivational game of eternity.

The entire game is about never giving up, having courage, doing the best you can, even if your best isn't the 'best'.
Look at the MC. He's just a normal human.
He gets pushed into the role of Unlosing Ranger, and shit gets thrown at him time and time again.
Even the other characters make note of how no matter how much he gets beaten, insulted, torn apart, he NEVER GIVES UP.

Nobody appreciates him.
Nobody sees him as a hero.
Even his family sees him as worthless.
And yet he continues to fight for them. All the people that shouldn't deserve his support.

See what I'm saying?

The moral is:
Never give up. When you fall down, get back up.
Nothing can keep you from anything. Even the most unlikely of people can be a hero.
You see, it's not a game.
It's wisdom.

I gotta stop here, I just broke down into tears. Hopefully you see past my lack of eloquence and structuring...I'm no Martin Luther.
But just try to see what I'm getting at.

Thanks.

Gurren Lagann is also good for getting a message similar to this across.
