Comet is a strange, variable man. To many people, he comes across as a pest, sometimes even a dangerous pest. To some others, he comes across as flat-out deranged.
To the rare few, he's a kind soul, with perhaps a few rough edges, but a well-intentioned core. Those people aren't often listened to.
He has an almost crippling obsession with research and science, hell-bent on finding the next breakthrough for reasons soon to be said. When he picks a subject, all semblance of their humanity goes out the window, and in his mind, they're subject to whatever study or experiment comes, in the name of data.
He displays a strong hatred for other scientists, and towards dragons of nearly all kinds, blaming them for the (perceived) stagnation of progress.
Once upon a time, Comet was a scientist recognized by the rest of the community, working in the field of thermodynamics. Later in his life, he began to dabble in the 'forbidden arts', arbitrarily banned for ABSOLUTELY NO good reason: Human experimentation. Intent on finding what he called 'the nature of man', he conducted hundreds of experiments in secrecy.
When he presented his findings, he was immediately reviled and cast out of the community, his findings credited to others and his equipment destroyed. Devastated, he broke down and couldn't handle even the basic hassles of life for several days. During this time, his emotions stewed, and he found himself imbued with an even stronger lust for information than before.
Picking up his notebook and pen, he set out again, in order to make his great ascent.
He would find it someday, he believed.
Local legend has it that Avoire's much older than he seems, and used to be a very different person. One has to wonder what happened for him to change.
Comet has an extremely high intelligence, seemingly uninhibited by his mental state. He is skilled at conducting efficient, effective studies and experiments, and by extension he is able to quickly notice patterns and trends.
Despite what one would presume about a man of science, he is proficient with ice magic, something that was quite useful in his original field of study. He doesn't hate magic, but he does find it needlessly complicated.
Comet isn't a bad hand at most domestic tasks, and he has good organizational skills.
During his travels, Comet was presented with many challenges, and soon became a passable warrior, though not one anyone should be afraid of anytime soon. He has an okay amount of skill with the shortsword and ice magic, but he is hopelessly incompetent with any other elements.
Exactly what it says on the box.
• Genius Aspect
Comet can occasionally pinpoint the weakness of an enemy without them even doing anything.
