Drachurst isn't the only kingdom with a group of elites serving the king directly; the land of Jipangu has its own version of the Silver Knights, the Go (Five) Samurai. These 5 warriors serve each generation of kings with complete loyalty, and each is a rather fearsome opponent to face in battle, the 5 of them combined about even with the 9 Silver Knights combined. The previous set of samurai in particular were quite infamous in their day, although they have all been succeeded now;
Sumeragi Hina, the leader of the samurai and a dignified and honorable man, worthy of being a king himself. While he was alive, he took up the sacred blade Raijinto, a sword infused with the power of lightning, and commanded the samurai strictly but fairly. Sadly, he died an honorable death on the battlefield protecting his liege, leaving behind four children born of his marriage to a noblewoman. The eldest son was to succeed him as the leader, but he was deemed unready for the position just yet. The four siblings moved to the land of Drachurst for various reasons, one of which was to allow the eldest brother the time and experience needed to grow into a worthy successor of both the head samurai of Jipangu and his father's sword.
Musama Hakashi, the second in command of sorts, and a rival to Sumeragi when he was alive, he took the position for a brief time before retiring and passing it on to someone else. He and his wife then moved to Drachurst to accompany the Hina siblings, whom his own son was good friends with. Said son took up the sword Bushikatagi and began the path of the ronin. Unfortunately for him, he ran afoul of a terrible curse that put him a bit off track...
Saya Nishiki, a graceful swordswoman of striking black hair and stunning beauty. She met and fell for a traveling Drachurstian man sometime during her service, and eventually married him, giving birth to two boys. The elder boy eventually grew to take up the family role as a samurai. The younger decided he wanted to do something different and (with blessings from his parents) and left for his father's homeland. Eventually, he experienced a reverse of his father's love life; he met and fell in love with a Drachurstian woman, marrying her and siring a baby boy who grew to have kids of his own. He also had several adventures with the man and woman who would eventually become the next king and queen of Drachurst. In a way, he did follow his family's bloodline traditions...
Hotaru Koguchi... Is a mystery known only to the other samurai. There might be a reason for their secrecy about her, there might not. The only thing known about her is that she carried the sacred blade known as Yato, which has several mysteries itself.
Finally, there is Haku Ishikawa, a man that carries only slightly fewer mysteries. He went missing in the middle of active duty for reasons unknown, and no one at home knows where he is. Rumors have it he fled to Drachurst with a lover and the two gave life to a baby girl who is living a simple life there. He carries his sword, Ōkami, as well as the Yato blade for some reason...
